Apple is moving away from Intel chips to their own ‘Apple Silicon’ hardware, starting with the M1 chip. There are a few ‘gotchas’ but support for Apple Silicon is almost complete.

The problem with Teams is when I do video meetings. As per your description, it seems that you are having issue with M icrosoft Autoupdate, missing/not running on MacOS.
However, I am having some troublems with Teams - which is still on an Intel build. Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. The Microsoft apps with a universal build (built for M1) are very fast and I honestly think it works much better than on my Windows laptop (which of course is not as fast as the Mini).
I have had my M1 Mac Mini 16/1TB for about ten days now and for work I need the O365 Suite.
